Unskippable: What Changes When an Ad Can't Be Scrolled Past

We skip video ads, close pop-ups and scroll past sponsored posts. An ad on the wall of a gym or café in the Metrocrest cannot be skipped — and that changes what a local business can do with it.

Most of us spend part of every day getting rid of ads. We skip the YouTube pre-roll, close the pop-up, and scroll past the sponsored post before it registers. Advertisers keep paying for those moments anyway.

Maverick Digital was started on a simple idea: put local advertising somewhere it cannot be skipped, and make it worth watching.

Where unskippable ads live

Instead of fighting for a split second on a phone, we place full-motion ads on screens where the community actually lives, works and plays — gyms, cafés and local businesses across the Metrocrest.

“We wanted to create a platform that supports the ‘Maverick’ spirit of local business owners,” says Mason Boswell, owner and CEO. “Our goal is to provide hyper-local marketing that is truly unskippable. By placing our screens in high-dwell-time locations, we help businesses grow through community-integrated technology rather than intrusive pop-ups.”

Grant Isbell, our operations manager, decides where each ad runs and makes sure it suits the room — a high-energy gym in Carrollton calls for something different from a quiet coffee shop in Addison.

The quiet moments

A highway billboard passes in a blur at 70 miles an hour. Indoor screens catch the quieter parts of someone’s day.

“We see it every day,” says Isbell. “When someone is waiting for their latte or resting between sets at the gym, their eyes naturally gravitate toward our high-definition screens.”

For a local business, that adds up to three advantages:

  • Reach that stays local. Your ad plays to people within a few miles of your front door.
  • Professional production. We shoot and edit full-motion ads, so a static logo becomes something people actually watch.
  • Community credibility. Being on a trusted local network builds a kind of neighborhood authority an online ad cannot.

The proof point: our Chamber partnership

We put this into practice with the Metrocrest Area Chamber of Commerce. As a Pinnacle Level Member, we signed a strategic partnership with the Chamber, and part of it is aimed squarely at new businesses: we film 15-second commercials for Chamber members — often at their ribbon cuttings — and run them on our network for 30 days.

That matters because a new business has no reputation yet. When a resident sees a newly opened shop featured on a screen at their gym, they are much more likely to look it up on Google later that day. That is search lift, and it is why we always pair the screens with a well-kept Google Business Profile: the screen earns the search, and the profile earns the visit.

Become unskippable

We keep growing across Carrollton, Addison and Farmers Branch, and the invitation is open to any local business that wants to stand out from the noise. See how our indoor billboard advertising works, or browse our current venues.
